Good Website Design
Creating a website is more than just picking the colors and the graphical presentation. Your website should be attractive, professional, and help you market your goods and services by being found by the search engines.
The First Steps
We firmly believe it's good business to determine exactly what you need before starting on a website.
A good website has the content you need without content you don't need. Web usability studies consistently show that people are attracted to websites that offer quality information that they can use. Skp the gimmicks.
We Start with Your Business
- What are your business objectives & plans for the future
- What are your customer demographics
- Who your competitors are and how your business can be differentiated from them
- Your current website (if any) - its strengths and areas for improvement
- How the website fits in with other marketing material and/or graphic design
After we have a clear understanding of your goals and objectives for a website, we'll talk about colors and the visual presentation of the site.
Only then we will give you an outline of a proposed website, a written quote for the website costs, and will work with you to deternime a reasonable timeline.
Building a Website is a Cooperative Process
Content and Keyword Phrases are the key to website success and being found by the search engines, so this is a major focus area.
If the content is organized and complete, the faster (and less expensive) it will be to get the site live and functional.
Because you know your business best, you will be critically involved in providing the content, much of which you may already have in corporate brochures, newsletters, and promotional advertisements.
The "Look and Feel" of Your Website (Now We Get to the Colors!)
Site Appearance is separate from the content of the site. We have sample designs from which you may choose and there are many commercially available designs that can also be selected.
We also build custom templates for clients when other templates don't meet their "branding" needs.
